Why Asking for Help, Delegating, and Relying on Others Is a Resilience-Building Practice β Not a Weakness
"Itβs just easier if I do it myself."
This is a common refrain that comes up with my coaching clients, whether Iβm working with an overwhelmed parent, a startup founder, or a C-suite leader. Most of us donβt think of ourselves as micromanagers or needing control. We just care and want things done well. In many cases, weβve been burned before. Perhaps we have a pile of evidence that we canβt or shouldnβt rely on others.
So we do it ourselves. We carry the load. Quietly. Competently. Until the weight becomes too muchβ¦
π The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World by Robin Wall Kimmerer, explores the value of giving and receiving support in building vibrant, resilient communities and ecosystems.
π On Juneteenth by Annette Gordon-Reed is a fascinating history of the Texas-origins of the holiday, along with the broader societal context and current implications. (PS: If you don't know the history of βSix Flags," you might be surprised!)

This month on the Two Piers Podcast, weβve explored what it means to lead with authenticity, clarity, and careβespecially when the path forward isnβt always clear.
πͺ In our conversation with Molly Booker, we talked about finding strength and even magic in the messiness of growth and transformation.
π James Felton Keith unpacked the real-world implications of DEIB as a form of risk management, especially in sectors like insurance that are often first to spot systemic vulnerabilities.
π₯ And Ellis Ivy closed out the month with a powerful reflection on how honoring individual identity can be the foundation for building truly inclusive communities.
Erica recently attended the annual conference for the New England Chapter of the International Coaching Federation (pictured below), where she had the opportunity to connect with fellow coaches from around the region.
Now that the conference is over, we're slowing things down a bit: less time at events, and more time catching up on our reading lists, communing with nature, and floating on the river.
We'll keep you updated as offerings get added to the calendar! π
It's hot out there, y'all!. Don't forget to wear your sunscreen, hydrate, and check for ticks! βοΈ
