Reflecting on 2024 and Looking Ahead: A Year-End Note from Two Piers

As the year winds down, Two Piers Podcast host and founder Erica D’Eramo takes a moment to reflect on the milestones, challenges, and meaningful moments of 2024—both personal and professional. This special solo episode departs from the usual guest format to offer a candid look at what’s been unfolding behind the scenes at Two Piers and what’s ahead for 2025.

Growing the Business: Consulting, Workshops, and Coaching

Erica shares how 2024 was a year of growth across all aspects of Two Piers:

  • Consulting: Expanded engagements across sectors, helping organizations define mission and vision, improve employee engagement, and deepen DEI work.

  • Workshops: Led multiple sessions, including two impactful workshops for the Women Offshore community on inclusive leadership and parental benefits.

  • Coaching: Continued one-on-one coaching with professionals from industries as diverse as energy, the arts, and social work—including work on the BetterUp platform with clients from companies like Google, Amex, and NASA.

With systems and processes put in place this year, Erica was able to serve more clients and make a greater impact, while still striving to maintain quality and depth in each engagement.

A Podcast Without Sponsors—and Proudly So

Despite a packed schedule, the Two Piers Podcast kept up a consistent release cadence in 2024, with just one missed episode due to personal grief. Erica expresses her gratitude to the incredible guests who shared their insights, and to her partner, who continues to support production behind the scenes.

Notably, the podcast remains unsponsored—by choice. Erica emphasizes the commitment to keeping the show focused on elevating voices, sharing resources, and connecting professionals without the influence of commercial interests.

What Didn’t Happen: The Newsletter (And Plans to Revive It)

One area that didn’t get the attention it deserved in 2024? The newsletter. After a strong start in 2023, it became too challenging to maintain. But Erica is excited to bring it back in 2025—this time with a focus on providing useful resources, rather than just company updates.

Coaching and Certification

Coaching continues to be a deeply fulfilling part of Erica’s work. Whether working with clients in tech, energy, or public service, she remains committed to helping individuals unlock clarity and confidence. She’s also working toward her PCC (Professional Certified Coach) credential, deepening her skills and continuing her journey of lifelong learning.

Leadership in the Coaching Community

In 2024, Erica took on the role of Vice President of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) for the ICF New England chapter. Her responsibilities include:

  • Organizing educational programming and events

  • Leading the DEIB committee

  • Launching initiatives like book clubs and curated email content

  • Representing the chapter at events like the Massachusetts Conference for Women, where she coordinated free coaching sessions for attendees

Teaching, Volunteering, and Restorative Practice

Beyond her consulting and coaching roles, Erica made time for community involvement:

  • Yoga Instruction: Taught a six-week VinYin yoga series in Bath, Maine, and hosted a pop-up class in Houston to raise funds for animal rescue and restorative justice organizations.

  • Tutoring: Worked with English language learners, building meaningful relationships through weekly sessions.

  • Writing Practice: While consistency remains a challenge, Erica is recommitting to her writing—both as a personal outlet and a way to connect with others.

What She’s Reading (and Listening To)

Erica’s bookshelf (and audiobook queue) reflects her deep curiosity about culture, productivity, and resistance:

  • Who's Afraid of Gender by Judith Butler

  • Against Technoableism by Ashley Shew

  • Rest Is Resistance by Tricia Hersey

She plans to continue exploring these themes and sharing her reflections with podcast listeners in the new year.

Looking Forward to 2025

Erica closes with gratitude—for her clients, her listeners, and the support network that made this year possible. She’s committed to bringing a sustainable, balanced approach into 2025, with space for both meaningful work and meaningful rest.

Listeners are encouraged to reach out with guest ideas, feedback, or just to say hello. And with new episodes already in the works, the Two Piers Podcast will return strong in the new year.

Wishing you a restful holiday season and a meaningful start to 2025—from all of us at Two Piers.
