Existing Workshop Offerings

We offer a variety of workshops that have been designed for organizations to support their members. We focus on topics that disproportionately impact underrepresented groups, but are applicable to everyone. Each workshop is interactive, and combines academic research and best practice with lived experiences and practical approaches to implementing key takeaways. All of our workshops are available in either 60 minute or 90 minute formats and be delivered remotely or in-person. Pricing is based on medium, duration and participant range.

Trailblazer’s Guide to Authenticity

Research shows that the benefits of authentic leadership are myriad, so it’s no surprise that we are often encouraged to be authentic and “bring our whole selves to work.” But what does true authenticity entail? And how do we know if it’s safe for us to share more of ourselves at work? For underrepresented groups, it can be challenging to find examples of authentic leadership in action that feel applicable to our circumstances. We discuss these questions, challenges and more in our interactive workshop. Attendees will learn about the concept of authenticity, its impact on individuals and organizations, and ways to safely explore and introduce greater authenticity in their own professional lives.

Navigating Difficult Conversations

While difficult conversations are a fact of life, handling them skillfully can set you apart from the pack. Do you dread them? Avoid them? Enjoy them? This interactive workshop explores what makes difficult conversations difficult, and offers methods and strategies for navigating your way through tough conversations – from preparation to de-escalation and resolution. We use practical scenarios and a big dose of humor to tackle this tricky topic and add a few tools to your collection that you can rely on when the next difficult conversation comes your way.

Implementing Sustainable Change

This workshop explores the ways that we can implement lasting change, whether focused internally on personal development or habits or focused externally on embedding change within an organization. We explore a variety of frameworks based on research, psychology, leadership theory and more. We also discuss practical tools to ensure that participants are equipped to create the impact they want to see in themselves and their world.

The Science of Resilience

We hear a lot about the need for resilience, but what does that actually entail? During this workshop, we discuss what resilience means for us, how we can foster it in ourselves and our teams, and how to cultivate it in a healthy way. We also examine the dark side of resilience and what to watch out for. This workshop is fun, interactive and filled with compassion and insights!

Self Advocacy 101

Self-advocacy can be a critical component of our development, career progression, and reward. The practice of self-advocating, however, comes with risks as well as rewards. We explore a variety of tools and tactics to successfully practice self-advocacy in the workplace as well as your personal life to reap the rewards while mitigating the risks. We’ll show you how to ask for what you want and need while avoiding the pitfalls that we’re all far too familiar with. Be prepared to laugh and to learn in this safe, supportive, and explorative environment!

Own Your Boundaries

Learning how to identify and assert our boundaries is key to both personal and professional growth, particularly when navigating challenging work environments. Our workshop explores the concepts of boundaries and communication. We provide participants tools and space to devise and practice their own unique ways of communicating and asserting their boundaries. While this can be an emotional topic, this workshop is dynamic, fun, and a welcoming and supportive space for all.

Whenever I can, I recommend Two Piers to friends and colleagues. Erica is a topnotch professional, a talented coach, and engaging public speaker. She draws in her audience from the moment she introduces herself and empowers them with a plethora of tools, verbiage, and frameworks to overcome challenges in the workplace. I have seen her guide a room of women through complex workplace issues and noted that nearly every person in the room had an “aha moment” in the interactive discussions. Personally, I felt empowered by her after our first conversation and knew instantly she was someone I wanted to continue learning from. I highly recommend Two Piers, and I am confident that you will walk away from Erica’s seminars empowered to overcome obstacles in your life while you go after your career dreams.

The workshop was very engaging and provided practical advice for navigating tough talks. We loved the interaction activity using our phone devices because it allowed everyone to be completely honest with their responses while staying anonymous. We learned new skills that helped us break down the structure of difficult conversations, listen to the words and tones of others, and become productive problem solvers. By reflecting and sharing experiences, the workshop also provided validation for some of the difficult conversations and emotions we’ve had in the past. Erica was excellent and ensured everyone felt comfortable and at ease throughout the session.
